Scleraderma Foundation

The Shabby Tea Room has a challenge this week, Pick your cause.  This was a very difficult challenge for me to participate in and even thought I wouldn't, but my husband passed away in 1992 from a disease called Scleraderma.  We had never heard of it and didn't know anything about it and actually there is very little known about it because it is so rare.

The reason I decided to do this challenge is because I am so proud of my youngest daughter and youngest son.  Last summer they did a 5K walk to raise money for the Scleraderma Foundation.  They raised over $1000.00.

The incentive for my card is from the shirts they designed and had printed up, everyone that did the walk for them wore one of these shirts.

The front of the shirt had a picture of my late husband, (their dad) on the front and  Walking it forward, on the back they had the other things on it which you will see on my card.

The heart and the keys represent our love for him and the keys are the key to the future to find a cure.

  1. June you picked a great cause and I love your card. Your colors are soft and a bit of vintage and your card turned out gorgeous. Perefect embellishments and I love the key and heart charm.
    Have a great day!

  2. This is truly stunning June ... It has to be one of the best you have done ... maybe because you put so much love into it that it jumps of the page and speaks volumes! ... Well done to your children too ... I've done 4 of the Race for life here in the UK ....

  8. June, what a dramatic statement this card puts forth. I'm very sure it was a difficult project for you with the memories it brings. I pray they find a cure, and that you know how much I admire you for this. Good luck at the STR challenge.
