Coffee Filter Flowers

I love to make flowers to use on my cards and home decor etc.  I love the tissue papers for my cards, they are so delicate and soft looking, but I found that when I would glimmer mist them or try to stamp on them I ended up tearing a bunch of them (I'm probably the only one with that problem) but it was still a problem for me.  I got to thinking and thought hey coffee filters get wet and hold up so what do I have to loose?  I used my sixxix to cut out the flowers, I found it was easier than punching them, if you do punch them you should put a regular sheet of paper behind it to give the punch something to grab on to.  Anyway I tried glimmer misting them and stamping on them and even chalked them and they held up really well.  Here is a card using the coffee filters.

Here is a close up of the flowers, leave me a me a comment and let me know what you think.  Give it a try and see how they turn out for you.

  3. Great flowers June!! I have made them with tea filters, the paper is even thinner. This week I also tried it with that paper that was in between the pages in older photoalbums. We call it *Spiderwebpaper* here in Germany. It is a bit smooth, so I colour it with Ranger reinker and water and blow dry it. You might want to take a look, the cards are posted on my blog.
